boston music library
In every age someone imagined a way of making the ideal edifice, 1081 is the one shaped by its users. The building is Boston’s hotspot: every inhabitant visits it, chooses the premises that corresponds to his desires, contemplates it, uses it, then returns it. A dichotomy inspired by the doppler effect and Cedric Price’s “Fun Palace”, 1081 Boylston Street is an incubator for musicians. It is a place that contains both shy and exhuberant formal languages that are connected by a Modular Stage to allow for both personalizable private experimentation and public performances.
